Background
The expert group meeting was organized by DSD/DESA and was hosted by UNCTAD, to discuss a draft of the GSDR Chapter on countries in special situations, specifically LDCs and LLDCs. The meeting was attended by representatives of least developed countries (LDCs) and landlocked developing countries (LLDCs), UN system (UNCTAD, UNESCO, UN-OHRLLS, as well as IOM and WTO) and scientific community (ICSU, CSEND, LDC IV Monitor Centre for Policy Dialogue, South Center, Consultant from Uganda). It was a very good and dynamic meeting with useful comments how to improve the chapter. The EGM had a good geographic and stakeholder mixture and it was useful to hear different points of view.
