Background
This event will present the International Organizations' Portal Pilot Project, developed as part of the EC-OECD Science, Technology and Innovation Policy (STIP) Compass in collaboration with the United Nations Inter-agency Task Team on Science, Technology and Innovation for the SDGs (IATT). The project aims to map the measures through which International Organizations (IOs) support STI policy, including financing (such as grants and loans), technical support and guidance, knowledge infrastructures, and convening platforms. This work complements the national-level data already captured by the STIP Compass.
This project provides an opportunity to strengthen connections between the UN 2030 Connect Online Platform for Science, Technology and Innovation (STI), maintained as part of the Technology Facilitation Mechanism by the IATT; and the STIP Compass platform, jointly maintained by the OECD and the European Commission. Both platforms play a vital role in facilitating global knowledge sharing on STI initiatives and policies in support of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
