Event Overview
Marking the 10th anniversary of the STI Forum, this special event will reflect on a decade of progress in leveraging science, technology, and innovation (STI) to advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Hosted by UN DESA, the UN Inter-agency Task Team (IATT) on STI for the SDGs and other partners, the session will highlight key achievements, lessons learned, and the critical role of multi-stakeholder collaboration in supporting Member States to leverage the power of STI for sustainable development. The event will also serve as a platform to look toward the next five years, reinforcing the global momentum generated at the Summit of the Future for STI-driven solutions to sustainable development challenges.
Key Objectives:
- Reflect on the IATT’s contributions and successful partnerships in STI for the SDGs and lessons learned.
- Facilitate knowledge-sharing on best practices and scalable innovations.
- Identify new opportunities, initiatives, and collaborations to accelerate STI action.
- Strengthen engagement between policymakers, scientists, and technology leaders.
Target Audience:
Member State representatives, UN agencies, academia, private sector leaders, and civil society stakeholders engaged in STI for sustainable development.
