Background
DESA/DSDG and UNCTAD co-organized the 33rd UN Inter-agency Task Team (IATT) on STI4SDGs Coordination Meeting. The virtual meeting brought together representatives to discuss key updates and strategic priorities, including preparations for the 2025 STI Forum, developments in the Commission on Science and Technology for Development (CSTD), and follow-ups on the Pact for the Future. Participants emphasized the importance of fostering inclusivity, multi-stakeholder engagement, and tangible outcomes for the SDGs. Highlights included updates on the 2025 STI Forum, with its theme aligned to advancing sustainable, inclusive, and evidence-based STI solutions. The meeting also featured discussions on upcoming activities such as capacity-building workshops on STI4SDGs, the FfD4 preparatory process, and collaborative opportunities under the Joint SDG Fund. The next IATT meeting is planned for around 12 March 2025. This meeting further strengthened synergies across UN bodies and emphasized the critical role of STI collaboration in achieving the 2030 Agenda.
