Background
The 2026 ECOSOC Partnership Forum will take place on 27 January 2026 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, under the theme: “Transformative, equitable, innovative and coordinated actions for the 2030 Agenda and its SDGs for a sustainable future for all”.
The Forum will place special emphasis on the SDGs to be reviewed at the 2026 High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF).
The Forum will also feature four SDG Action Segments, focusing on Goal 6, 7, 9 and 11. Elements from Goal 17, as a cross-cutting goal, are expected to be featured in each segment.
As part of the preparations for the 2026 ECOSOC Partnership Forum and its SDG Action Segments, the present Partnership Snapshot has been developed with the purpose to provide a concise and informative overview of various partnerships, with the aim of inspiring governments and stakeholders to actively engage in collaborations that advance the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Additionally, the Snapshot emphasizes key elements of building effective multi-stakeholder partnerships and fostering meaningful stakeholder engagement for the 2030 Agenda, drawing on DESA’s guidance materials.
