    Description
    UNDP’s sustainable energy portfolio comprises about 160 projects in over 85 countries worth approx. $430 million in grant funding. Projects are owned and implemented by national partners, leveraging an additional $3.5 billion in co-financing. Through the GEF Small Grants Programme partnership, an additional $8 million of grant financing were channeled to over 250 projects, in 2014, on renewable energy, energy efficiency and energy access.

    Implementation of the Project/Activity

    UNDP is committed to continue its engagements, facilitating access to sustainable energy finance for developing country partners. Promotion of energy access, renewable energy and energy efficiency is firmly embedded in UNDP’s Strategic Plan and is being pursued in the context of the emerging SDG framework. UNDP is mobilizing its network of country offices and its technical expertise to support the “Sustainable Energy for ALL” goals.
