Strengthening targeted strategic partnerships to promote the sustainable growth of aquaculture

    FAO is committed to promote sustainable development of aquaculture globally through a Global Sustainable Advancement Partnership (GSAAP) in collaboration with the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences (CAFS) for a greater contribution of the sector to the achievement of SDGs, in particular ending hunger, improving nutrition, poverty alleviation and sustainable use of natural resources. Based on local demand, the partnership will facilitate the policy and technical solutions on local conditions and natural resources, the integration of advanced technological innovations, the provision of comprehensive solutions for a thriving aquaculture industry, and addressing current and emerging issues including climate change, social and culture challenges. All interested stakeholders, including policymakers, academic institutions and private sector are encouraged to join the partnership. The GSAAP will function as a collaborative platform to discuss key issues and challenges, innovations and advancements in science and technology, assisting in the formulation of sound and comprehensive solutions to effectively address problems hindering sustainable aquaculture development.

    Global Sustainable Advancement Partnership (GSAAP) is a collaboration between FAO and the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences (CAFS) . All interested stakeholders, including policymakers, academic institutions and private sector are encouraged to join the partnership.
