    Description

The objective of Stories Behind Things is to distribute free content daily across our social media platforms. We engage with a global community of sustainability-minded individuals. We distribute our bespoke content, campaigns and events directly to our audience across our social and digital platforms. Through storytelling, we aim to educate, entertain, and inspire our audience to make positive choices whilst keeping people and planet in mind. Stories Behind Things is Founded by Jemma Finch, a BBC Earth and Allbirds ambassador. Named one of the ‘leading voices on social media’ by Eco Age.

    Implementation of the Project/Activity

This initiative is run by Founder Jemma Finch, partnering with various climate focused grass routes initiatives to promote their work. Our projects are executed in various formats depending on the most effective method to spread awareness. Methods range from hosting educational panel events, brand pop ups, through to online actives such as digital discussions and content creation. The main vehicle for awareness for our projects are through our website (www.storiesbehindthings.com) and our social media platforms (@storiesbehindthings) to reach the widest audience possible.

Arrangements for Capacity-Building and Technology Transfer

Hosting events with the objective of information sharing is a key way to communicate new initiatives to our growing audiences and community partners. We carry this out through networking events and activity focused events for example a clothes switch or industry panel conversation. Many of our partners join us in order to launch the wider spread of positive information relating to a new sustainability initiative, we carry this out through original content creation across all our online platforms to engage our growing audiences and community partners.

    Coordination mechanisms

Stories Behind Things is governed in accordance with Sustainable Development Goal 12 Responsible Consumption and Production. We use CRM technologies to ensure our organisation is able to span across our remote freelance team. Utilising project planning strategies are key for ensuring a streamline approach is taken to any new partner or awareness project we support.

    Evaluation

We measure impact in accordance with Sustainable Development Goal 12 Responsible Consumption and Production. We do not have an office, we work remotely to enable our freelance team to benefit from reduced emissions coming into work. We utilise online remote working to ensure our team is flexible and can scale in a bespoke way around the projects and promotions we run.
