SDG 1 4 and 5
Description
We provide educational support to the needy children. Support teen mothers through skills development programs Teen Pregnancy Prevention program through sexual health education and Mobile App that will work offline.
Educating every child despite their family background. Creating a sustainable future that we all hope for, by empowering our young future leaders
Since the inception, 12 years ago I came across many challenges and some include teens who dropped out at school due to teen pregnancy , some due to poverty where no one is the to look after them financial.
Some dropped out as they are child headed families. The elder sister or brother dropped out from school to provide social support to the siblings.
To overcome some challenges, I have implemented the program to provide teaching about sexual health education, HIV/AIDS and managed to assist morethan 250 girls stay at school.
I also overcome the teen mothers dropped out by providing skills development projects that includes sewing. we keep them busy and they sew to generate income
Methods of engagement is also on the school drive tours where we motivate the learners. we invite different stakeholders and they support the initiative.
These two different programs have different monitoring methods.
The educational support program, We track down the learners performance, we do awards and apply for the matriculates at the universities of their choices.
we assist with transport money , accommodation, registration fees until they get financial support within the university. so the planning makes it more easier when we track down the records and we reward the top learners it inspires fellow learners to perform well.
The second program of teen mothers support, teens pregnancy prevention. we hold campaign and talks about sexual health education. we also use the teen mothers to share their sad journey discouraging the young ones not to fall in a trap as they did. We also select some beneficiaries to participate on skill development programs according to their passion. we assist them to generate income through these skills development projects.
we are in a process of launching the MOBILE APP that will assist on the monitoring, teaching sexual health issues and let the youth report sexual abuse anonymously since some pregnancies are internal by family members but they are scared to report.
the long term results is raising the zero teen pregnancy generation and educated nation by 2030. through the implemented programs and some on pipeline , with no doubt we have impact and the results are truly promising and giving us hope to continue educating the nation through our young ones.
I have learned that many kids loose focus if no one close by to guide them through. we have young women who have children because they didn't know what is right and what is wrong. since we implemented these programs it is an eye opening and have already broke new grounds and platforms for many young generations and everyone around us can surely see that difference and impact we are making.
