Description
• Raise awareness on Sexual and Gender Based Violence and on women’s rights to inform the TJ process
• Engage relevant stakeholders (state and Non-state actors) including victims in order to address Sexual and Gender based violence effectively.
• Strengthen and improve communication between the Gender Platform and Transitional Justice mechanisms.
• Ensure through analysis of SGBV in the context of human rights and proactive solutions.
Expected outcomes:
• Institutional reforms recommendations to strengthen public institutions to effectively combating and responding to SGBV cases
• Management of the negative reaction, justification and narrative from the public thus challenging cultural beliefs.
• Increased awareness on sexual and Gender Based Violence as a violation of human rights and a pre-requisite to eradicate the act
• Strengthen the enforcement of laws through policy briefs earmarked for the Ministries of Justice, Women’s affairs and the Office of the Vice President.
