Description
1.Leaders have signed the Declaration2.Cabinets are to nominate national focal agencies and a focal point within the focal agencies3.A PRDR SE4ALL portal is developed4.National consultation workshops are conducted to confirm national buy-in at the operational level and to address data collection, sharing and analysis challenges 5.Data sharing agreements are signed with those that need it so as to ensure security of sensitive information and data6.Regional and national workshops as well as hands-on missions are conducted to support local capacity in data collection, analysis and interpretation7.Support the establishment of national data repository where capacity exist8.The portal is populated with data and information9.The portal is available on-line for all to access data and information 10.Continuous capacity building and update of data and information11.Refinement and reviews as necessary12.Follow up workshops and hands on missions are conducted to support local capacity in data collection, analysis and interpretation13.Assist with the replication of best practices in other regions
The partnership will include supporting national capacity to be able to effectively compile data, analyse and interpret. This will be carried out through regional and national workshops as well as technical assistance to actually work hands-on with local experts on the ground. Where the capacity exists, technical assistance will be provided to enable countries to establish their own national data repository.
Pacific Leaders signed a Declaration on Establishing the PRDR for SE4ALL at the margins of the 68th UN General Assembly in New York in September 2013. The Pacific Second Regional Meeting of Pacific Ministers of Energy and Transport (Aviation and Maritime) Regional Energy Ministers Meeting on April 2014, welcomed the decision for SPC to host PRDR for 12 months on an interim basis, and the establishment of a steering committee to provide oversight support to SPC during the 12-month interim hosting period. This partnership will therefore be governed by the PRDR SE4ALL Steering Committee which is chaired by the UN ESCAP.
