    In line with SDG 4, Kor Foundation’s main goal is to empower children from underprivileged communities in Africa through education. By 2025, the organization aims to identify and train more than 20 000 children with relevant skills and also improve their computer knowledge. Increase school enrollment by providing scholarships, school supplies and school uniforms to more than 20 000 children, Build and upgrade educational facilities with the target of reaching more than 5 000 underprivileged communities in Africa. Support students by organizing quiz and essay writing competitions among primary and secondary school students and the winners thereafter are given prizes.
    Expected Impact

    Our organization’s humanitarian services to underprivileged communities in Africa are based on information on the poor state of education and educational facilities in rural communities of Africa. We employ purposive sampling procedure to obtain the communities we serve, Information concerning communities with poor education and educational facilities are provided by our fans on social media, supporters and volunteers. <br />
    The state of children’s education and educational facilities in these communities are further verified with self-made semi-structured questionnaires to ascertain the needs of the schools in these communities. The decision on the schools to work with is made by the board of directors based on some criteria. Funds for various projects are obtained through the benevolence of the founder, board of directors, volunteers and our supporters who selflessly want to make a difference in the lives of underprivileged children.<br />
    We aim to achieve each of the set objectives by setting up a project in line with the objectives and monitoring the process of the activities with feedback given to the officials and board of directors intermittently as the projects are on-going. Evaluation of the project outcome is done during and at the end of the project process.<br />
    We set up skill exhibition among children in these selected communities through their churches, community head and leaders to select children with necessary skills who would be trained further by our organization. Our organization, in addition gives out free computer training to the youths in these communities to enable them have a better future and to enable them compete with their counterparts in the urban areas.<br />
    Poor existing educational facilities in these communities are upgraded and new structures are constructed in case of absence of necessary educational facility in the school.<br />
    Socio- demographic characteristics of parents of children in these community schools are also included in the semi structured questionnaire and the data from the questionnaire analyzed by the board of directors to get students that will benefit in scholarship, grants, annual provision of school uniforms and stationeries which are part of Kor foundation’s humanitarian services. We further encourage school outcome and enrollment in these schools by organizing quiz and essay writing competition among students in the school. Certificate, cash gift and other educational items are being given out to the winners of these competitions.

    Capacity

    Kor foundation has the intention of investing more in this organization to increase its sustainability and effectiveness including strategic planning and evaluation, resource development such as recruitment and retention of management staff and volunteers. Development of board members and volunteers in line with the organizations defined objectives by organizing training, workshops and conferences are ways of improving the organizations human resources. <br />
    Technology improvement such as computer and software upgrades, internet advocacy, new equipment procurement are all in the long term plan for the growth and sustainability of our organization. Regular organizational assessment, evaluation of overall effectiveness of the processes geared towards achieving the set objectives and strategic planning will also build our organization. We have the plan of promoting competent leaders, sound management and good governance; also make explicit strategic and organizational challenges for easy solutions.<br />
    The organization has the vision of expanding their humanitarian services to all regions of Africa, our volunteers are sent into selected rural areas to collect data with regards to the schools located in those areas, and the data is analyzed to ascertain the educational needs of children in that locality . We intend to upgrade methods of selecting the communities we serve by employing improved technology to identify the educational needs of communities. We have step by step plans of reaching out to more supporters and volunteers who believe in making a difference in the lives of underprivileged children through the social media, community awareness through the community heads and churches in the communities we serve.<br />
    The executives, volunteers and supporters take part in fundraising, to support underprivileged children’s education. People see what we are doing they put interest and would want to make a financial support to improve the lives of more children. We plan to partner with any organization with similar vision to ours so as to alleviate poverty in the rural communities of Africa through education in line with sustainable development goal 4.<br />
    Annual auditing of the organization is carried out by the board of directors to ascertain the progress of Kor foundation’s objectives and the effectiveness of the projects carried out within the year. This yearly audit is an obvious tool for evaluating the organizational improvement.<br />
    This organization also has the plan of bringing technology and resource persons from developed countries like USA, Canada, and UK for the purpose of accelerating educational development in the poor nations of Africa.

    Governed

    Kor foundation is a dynamic, vision driven 501(c) 3 non-profit organization where members share in the governance of the organization and defines its core values and strength. The organization achieves its objectives through a combination of the right individuals, an effective structure for management, set of program roles and responsibilities. The organization has an initiative that maintain link between the initiative and the rural communities.<br />
    This organization has an effective structure within the organization to plan and execute projects, also monitors and evaluates the progress of the organization’s objectives in line with the SDGOAL 4 vision 2030.<br />
    Board members determines the organization’s visions and missions, decides the values to be promoted in the organization. Their roles also is to review organizational goals and establish policies within the organization; they set strategies and structure of the organization, also responsible for directors. The executive director of the organization is also a board member and a major decision maker in the organization.<br />

    Program director continuously assesses and refines approaches and plans, ensues good communication between the sponsors and the strategic development coordinator, directs strategic and development director to achieve results aligned with the organizational goal. The program director acts as the implementation arm of the program.<br />
    The project director plans, organizes, directs and controls projects, manages and delivers specific products, manages work within the organizational project plan framework also manages technical staff in order to achieve the plans of the organization.<br />
    Strategic development coordinator creates long term plans, initiate blue print that would be used in program accomplishments, maintains donor relationship, secure new donors, organizes events, monitors and evaluates data within the organization in order to ascertain progress within the organizational objectives.<br />
    Visual designer and data visualizer creates and designs website, data, graphics for the organization, also in charge of videography and photography at events. Content creator on the other hand contributes information to media, maintains and updates the organization’s websites and social media.<br />
    Volunteer members of this organization go to remote and under privileged communities of Africa and give voice to the concerns of communities. Matters are typically presented to the board members for approval and execution. Supporters on the other encourages the organization in so many ways including with financial assistance.
