    Description

    (Biodiversidad y Naturaleza) Costa Rica se compromete a alcanzar el objetivo de la meta 30x30, la cual consiste en que el mundo alcance el 30% del territorio continental y el 30% del territorio marino bajo alguna categoría de manejo, protección y conservación de la naturaleza antes del 2030. Costa Rica ya ha alcanzado esta meta en el territorio marino, con la ampliación del área de protección de la Isla del Coco, sin embargo, presenta el reto de mejorar la gestión y manejo de la protección y conservación de la naturaleza en esta área. En el territorio continental la cobertura actual bajo alguna categoría de protección es 26%, sin embargo, tenemos el exitoso modelo de Pago por Servicios Ambientales, que paga a fincas privadas por conservar le bosque, lo cual en conjunto con las áreas protegidas alcanzamos el 60% del territorio con cobertura boscosa. De esta manera, Costa Rica afirma su serio compromiso con la naturaleza.
