Description

The Girl Child Values Support Initiative intends to use sports for activism in the northern part of Nigeria where gender inequalities are still dominant, with mixed-gender teams, men/boys learn about issues affecting women/girls and instead of seeing gender inequality as a “woman/girl problem”, they fight it together. Our organization will train community members to support body and health rights activists in communities. Using sports to educate government, children, and adults on the importance of Body and Health rights, STEM Education, and Gender Equality.

Expected Impact

Under the management of our Executive Director and Project Manager, the organizations practices and implements its core ideologies and principles through; \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\n• Sensitization sessions help per month with government officials in each district on women’s rights and violence against women and girls, and their roles to combat it. \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\n• Workshops for educating communities. \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\n• Participating and supporting gender advocacy research, development, innovation, and execution. \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\n• Women’s empowerment and skill acquisition training. \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\n• Using sports and storytelling as an innovative approach to change narratives and break barriers.

The Girl Child Values Support Initiative aims to address gender norms in support of gender equality in women and girls' rights.
