Expanding SME Access to Finance and Business Development Services in Belize

    Strengthening of the ecosystem for SME finance through: (1) Design of the SBDC Belize Expansion Plan; (2) Implementation of SBDC Belize Expansion Plan; and (3) knowledge management and strategic communication (training to financial intermediaries for improving operational capacities in originating and managing SME loan portfolio, as well as to small businesses in their competitiveness, viability and financial sustainability.)
    Expected Impact

    Consultants where hired for the implementation of different components. A project coordinator was hired to coordinate all activities.

    Capacity

    One of the project component included capacity building to the Financial Institutions and MSMEs. At the moment, Beltraide is carrying out the 2nd round of training for MSMEs in different locations in Belize. In May 2018, 268 persons were trained.<br />

    The initiative is being coordinate by BELTRAIDE.  Non-objections are provided by the bank (MIF/IDB)
