    El objetivo de esta Estrategia Nacional es el fortalecimiento y aumento de capacidad de fundiciones y refinerías en Chile, a través del impulso de la sustentabilidad ambiental, social y económica de la industria, de la creación de más y mejores empleos, del desarrollo de encadenamientos productivos, del mejoramiento de la trazabilidad de la producción de cobre chilena, del elevar los estándares de desempeño ambiental, así como también de la agregación de valor a la industria minera nacional.

    Las iniciativas propuestas se enmarcan en tres objetivos que buscan fortalecer y aumentar la capacidad de FURE en Chile, con sus respectivas iniciativas: Objetivo 1. Una industria FURE acorde a los desafíos actuales Acuerdo Nacional para el Fortalecimiento de la Industria FURE Plan de Adecuación Normativa para una Industria FURE Sostenible Promoción de Transparencia y Acceso a la Información: Programa Tecnológico FURE: Impulso a la Formación y Capacitación de Capital Humano para FURE: Iniciativa de difusión de información FURE dirigida a la ciudadanía: 2. Fortalecimiento de la capacidad estatal A ENAMI se le encarga liderar un proyecto de aumento de capacidad FURE en la Región de Atacama. A CODELCO Se le encarga que pueda mantener o aumentar su capacidad FURE, mejorando la productividad y modernización de sus actuales unidades, y que evalúe la ejecución de proyectos de expansión y el apoyo o participación en la construcción de una nueva fundición en Chile. 3.
