Cooking for Life Programme (CFL)
Description
1) Cooking fuel survey conducted; analysis of data and report presented;2) Develop a Cooking for Life (CFL) and heating strategy; and investment plans for the countries;3) Implementation of the Cooking for Life and heating strategy and investment plans;4) Capacity building on technical aspects and accounting (book-keeping) for government officials; NGO and community ( women’s group);5) Development of a sustainable business model for the establishment of small-micro finance business to be coordinated by women; and6) Improve and establish quality international standards of storage area for LPG.
March 2013- 2014 ( cooking fuel survey, consultation with project partners and Development of the Cooking For Life (CFL) strategy and investment plan for each country - Kiribati, Tuvalu and RMI). 2016 -2017 implementation of pilot projects in Kiribati and Tuvalu. Projects activities pilot 100 households for use of LPG and 110 households for improved biomass stoves in Kiribati and Tuvalu. Includes the technical and business training for local NGOs and households.
The Energy programme of the Economic Development Division of the Pacific Community (SPC) will be responsible for the overall project coordination, management and reporting on its implementation and progress to the project partners.A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) will be developed and signed with key project partners for the implementation of the project.
