Description
Energy Climate House is focusing on issues related to the transition to a low-carbon and resource-efficient economy within the context of the “European Energy Union”. This includes removing obstacles to an efficient and effective transition as well as creating the conditions for more European approaches. Its overall philosophy favours market solutions to improve regulation and policy formulation.
This think tank, which was launched in early 2015, aims to make a major contribution to enhance the understanding of energy and climate change issues to the general public. In this respect, it intends to make it aware of the formidable challenges due to the risk of climate change and of the answers that could be put forward. Topics which will be addressed include: the economics of oil, gas, coal, nuclear and renewables, cities of tomorrow and their implication on energy transition, assessing climate change and their economic and financial implications, taxation policies, international and geopolitical implications of the energy transition and climate change policy, climate change and financial markets, energy and EU industrial and innovation policy, R&D, education training.
Energy Climate House is guided by commitments to preserve its complete independence, to maintain a high level of scientific research (thanks to a scientific advisory committee), to animate a network of think tanks with global reach, and therefore to contribute to the endeavours of all the stakeholders which, under the leadership of the United Nations, are working to help putting in place a successful transition to sustainable energy for all.
