Progress made on the implementation of international ongoing scientific projects related to marine mammals in the Pelagos SanctuaryThe Permanent Secretariat of the Pelagos Agreement, of the ACCOBAMS and CIMA Research Foundation organized a photographic exhibition in Monaco to mark the achievement of the scientific project Pelagos Noise, assessing the impact of acoustic pollution on cetaceans within the Pelagos Sanctuary, with focus on the distribution of the Cuvier's beaked whale and the sperm whale, the two most susceptible species to submarine noise. The exhibition was inaugurated duringthe 2nd edition of Monaco Ocean Week, on the occasion of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signature between the Secretariats of the ACCOBAMS and the Pelagos Agreement. The aim of the MoU is to strengthen the cooperation between the two Agreements.
