Background
Introduction
Building upon more than twenty years of multi-stakeholder engagement in sustainable development, achieving the 2030 Agenda will require broad and systematic engagement of all civil society sectors and other relevant stakeholders in order to play a constructive role in supporting the implementation, in partnership with national and local policy makers, that will deliver results for the poorest, most vulnerable and those furthest behind.
The Post-2015 Development Priorities nation-wide stakeholder consultations held in Morocco in 2013 with participation by a diversity of stakeholders reaffirmed that favouring an inclusive debate and a bottom-up approach to implementation should be a key principle for decision making at local and national levels.
This activity is made possible thanks to funds granted by the European Commission to support the SD2015 project for stakeholder engagement in follow-up and review of the 2030 Agenda.
