Background
The Division for Sustainable Development Goals, UNDESA, in collaboration with the National Engineering Research Centre for Juncao Technology of Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University of China organized an online side event on " Juncao Grass Green Barrier: Ecological Control and Industry Development by Juncao Technology." The event showcases the Juncao ecological barrier construction on different sites that include coastal areas, desertification areas, saline-alkali land and mines, and provide sustainable solutions that closely integrate ecological governance and industrial development. The objective of the side event is to enhance the knowledge of countries facing various climate change related problems, equipping them with the knowledge and understanding of the contributions of Juncao technology that include expanding the amount of arable land by addressing soil erosion and desertification-related challenges. It also aims to highlight the benefits of South-South and Triangular Cooperation as a means of enhancing access to science, technology, and innovation, knowledge sharing, and capacity building and effectively contributing to the achievement of the SDGs.
