In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful
In the name of God
At the outset, My delegation would like to thank the co facilitators of the process for their leadership.
I would like to associate myself with the statement made by distinguished representative of South Africa on behalf of the Group of 77 and China. Furthermore, I would like to make a few remarks in my national capacity.
Co-facilitators:
• It is important to finish the negotiations by July 31.
• We insist on the inclusion of the Chapeau of the SDGs and also individual elements from it into the Declaration.
• We stress that the Addis Ababa outcome is only one component of the Global Partnership and that it supplements, not replaces the SDG MOI targets which remain the core.
• The TFM agreement should be fully reflected in the section under MOI.
Co-facilitators,
• Regarding the CBDR, this principle should explicitly apply to the entire agenda.
• We emphasize that the notion of different national circumstances, priorities, capacities, levels of development throughout the document be apply to the entire agenda.
• We need to emphasize the primacy of the 3 pillars of sustainable development: social development; economic development and environmental protection in the preamble section.
• Reference to HLPF, the mandate of the forum is also to provide political guidance on SD as a whole, not merely to replace the Annual Ministerial Review of ECOSOC.
• In the paragraph referring to the Planet, we propose to include the Sustainable Forest Management and after combat desertification, we propose to add dust storm.
• In the paragraph referring to the Peace, we propose to add the people with disabilities.
• We reiterate that poverty eradication is the overarching priority and a central imperative of the post-2015 development agenda. We emphasis that 80 % of the poor living in the middle income countries.
• Regarding paragraph 27 on the issue of climate change, we would like to reiterate that the language in the declaration should not prejudge the Paris outcome.
• We propose to delete the mention of "shared responsibility" in paragraph 31 which dilutes the differences between the developing and the developed countries.
• There is strong request to lift and terminate the ‘unilateral coercive measures’ and the impact that these have on the full achievement of economic and social development this request should be reflected in the Paragraph 36.
• In the same paragraph should be acknowledge that present global slowdown has specially affected the trade in developing countries.
I thank you.
