Egypt statement
Post 2015 Session on
The relationship between the FFD and post-2015 processes

Egypt associates itself to the statement delivered by South Africa on behalf of the g77 and China.
I would like to reaffirm our point of view explained on Tuesday, in our view, FFD is a larger and more comprehensive process for providing the enabling environment for development, and should not be meant to be the ultimate tool for the MOIs of the post 2015 development agenda.
There are overlaps and intersections, but this cannot be considered as a carte blanche to merge both processes
The distinction between both is clear and we do not support expanding the provided mandate of the FFD process to “support the implementation of the post 2015 development agenda“ into a merger of both processes that does not take into consideration the difference in scope between both.
We believe that the success of both processes is dependent on a renewed and strengthened global partnership which is supported by other partnerships.
We must clearly draw the line between commitments and voluntary actions while acknowledging the pivotal role both should play in the financing for development.
Furthermore, calls for a new global partnership, lays a shadow of doubt on the importance of building on what was achieved sin Monterrey and the need to guide our path to achieving our objectives by the lessons learnt and unfulfilled gaps from the MDGs experience.
Thank you.
