Report or Explain- A policy proposal for sustainability reporting to be adopted as a common practice for the advancement of a Green Economy

Thousands of organizations now report on their economic, social and environmental performance, showing that sustainability reporting adds value. If sustainable development is to be reached, the time has now come for sustainability reporting to become standard practice. This can be achieved by the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio+20) adopting a policy framework on sustainability reporting based on the report or explain approach. This proposal outlines the case for such policy approach and invites discussion.
