New Global Goals for Development and Sustainability after 2015
Publication Year: 2013 Publisher:Background
The joint position on a Post-2015 framework for development by the Danish NGO-networks 92-group, NGO FORUM, Concord Denmark and FORDI.
With the adoption of the UN Millennium Declaration in 2000, world leaders committed themselves to the most ambitious set of goals for human development ever proposed by the international community. They set the finishing line 15 years later and now, with a few years of that remaining, it is clear that the international community has been able to bring about change for the better through cooperation and a common focus across thousands of different endeavours all over the world. The number of extremely poor people in the world has halved, far more global citizens have access to clean water, and this alone has also greatly improved health.
