    Description
    Description

For over 80 years, Lenzing has been looking beyond fiber. With wood as our natural resource, Lenzing’s solutions are as inventive as they are effective when it comes to caring for our partners’ success, our planet’s protection and people’s needs in everyday life.
Gender equity: Diversity and inclusion are crucial for businesses to succeed. Lenzing is dedicated to fostering an inclusive workplace by setting targets to improve diversity, particularly in gender balance, and encouraging employee involvement through resource groups.

    Implementation of the Project/Activity

We know that diversity is more than just gender, yet we want to start with the topic of Women's Empowerment Principles, on March 8 2023, International Women's Day. The charts show that there is definitely room for improvement to reach a better gender balance. Therefore, as a first step in the right direction we have set the target to increase the proportion of women to 22.5 % in all positions graded 5a and above by 2025 - to senior leadership positions. The Women's Empowerment Principles stem from the UN Global Compact.

Arrangements for Capacity-Building and Technology Transfer

For now, this initiative is internal as we track our progress. As we make gains to increase the percentage of women in leadership roles, we will share our successes externally. Employee Resource Groups are internal groups dedicated to fostering communication, education and action to promote diversity and inclusion at Lenzing. The ERGs will be our bottom up method to hear from employees how their experiences at our company can shape our efforts to become a more inclusive and empowered company.

    Coordination mechanisms

In order to support Lenzing`s women empowerment efforts, a global Employee Resource Group (ERG) under the motto “Women@Lenzing” is launched, for which all employees can apply. ERGs are internal forums where involved or supporting employees have the opportunity to actively participate in the development of actions that advance the inclusion of all employees with regards to all beliefs, backgrounds and/or identities. We plan to launch ERGs on a variety of different topics to have space for exchange, identify barriers, develop activities for more diversity and inclusion and learn from each other.
