    Under 1 Output, the REDSAF Project seeks to ensure that COVID-19 preparedness and socio-economic recovery is strengthened in Samoa, particularly for unemployed women and youth. Under the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, the two activities are activity 1.5: Expand infrastructure development of MAF Toloa marine multispecies hatchery to increase and diversify aquaculture and mariculture stocks and its community distribution. Second, activity 1.6: Strengthen capacity for sustainable and sustained limu production and support expansion of commodity commercialization across Samoa. The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries will implement trainings and workshops across 10 villages in Upolu and 10 villages in Savaii to introduce new farming techniques for Limu, or Sea Grapes. Second, the expansion of the Toloa Multispecies Hatchery for further testing and research of sea grapes for community distribution and further trainings and awareness. MAF will ensure that the Monitoring and Evaluation of these pilot sites are sustained to provide income earning opportunities for local communities.
