The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel is preparing to provide around twenty scholarships over the course of five years) to outstanding candidates from the Caribbean and Pacific regions to attend the International Master of Public Health Program at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel. The scholarship will cover tuition and accommodation for the entire academic year, as well as airfare to and from Israel. Students will gain valuable knowledge in one of the top priority areas for SIDS Countries Public Health and NCDs and will be able to apply that knowledge in their home countries. As alumni, they will join an extensive global network of Public Health professionals with a common background and a common professional 'language', who work towards the common objective of improving the health of their societies and contributing to their sustainable development. The Braun School of Public Health and Community Medicine of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem Hadassah is the first and largest school of Public Health in Israel, an outstanding institution which has trained students from over 90 countries over the last fifty years.
Implementation of the Project/Activity

The Braun School of Public Health in Jerusalem will be responsible for the program's administration. MASHAV will assist in coordinating with public health authorities and organizations in SIDS Countries in order to identify suitable candidates.

Capacity

The Master's degree program constitutes a valuable capacity building opportunity. It will be administered entirely by the Braun School of Public Health in Jerusalem.

Governed

MASHAV, Israel's Agency for International Development Cooperation, will provide the funds to cover the scholarships. The Braun School of Public Health in Jerusalem will select suitable candidates for the program in coordination with local public health authorities and organizations in SIDS countries.
