Description
The activity supports the provision of matching grants awards to the Producer Organizations (POs) for the procurement of capital assets for increasing agriculture productivity and commercialization agriculture value chains. While some POs will be receiving first tranche some groups will be receiving second and third tranches
The POs within Productive Alliance (PAs) will undergo through concept note assessment, due diligence and business plan assessments and only successful business plans will be awarded the matching grants to implement their various sub-projects. The recommendation for the award of matching grant is done by Independent Evaluation Committee
Capacity buiding by both government bodies such as government frontline staff, department of DAES and Experts in Department of Cooperatives. They are supplemented by Individual consultants (Technical Implementation Support Brokers and Business plan development Consultants)
The Initiative is implemented by Ministry of Agriculture in collabarotion with Ministry of Trade and Industry. There is a dedicated full time Project Implementation Unit coordinated by a Project Coordinator and have specialists in various fields to facilitate implementation of specific project activities on a day to day basis. The project overseen by a project steering Commmittee which is a committee of Principal Secretaries who provides policy direction and oversight and supported by Project Technical Committee which is a committee of Directors who provide technical guidance and oversight.
The Evaluation is done by the World Bank every six months through World Bank Support Implementation Mission and by external evaluators at Mid-term and at end project implementation
