    Description
    The Norwegian Ocean Acidification monitoring project, funded by the Norwegian Environment Agency, collect carbon cycle data in Norwegian waters (the North Sea, the Norwegian Sea and the Barents Sea) with the aim to unravel the trends and characteristic of ocean acidification in these areas. The observation network consist of research vessels, ships of opportunity, a surface buoy, and moorings, and both the surface waters and the ocean interior are covered by the monitoring program. The data are integrated in an annual report, where the annual status of ocean acidification in Norwegian waters as well as time series of acidification rates are presented.

    The Norwegian Ocean Acidification monitoring project in its current form was started in 2013 and will last at least until 2020. A pre-project on ocean acidification started in 2010.
