    Description

    Missy Wezi M Care Foundation now recognizes the importance of mental well-being for all citizens.  It is fundamental to the quality of life, enabling people to experience life as meaningful and to be creative and active. Public mental health reinforces lifestyles conducive to mental well-being.  

                To increase mental health awareness by the use of Education, Training, Support and Advocacy, the organization intends to run a program for five (5) months that will allow the mentioned deliverables take effect effectively. Trained personnel’s will train volunteers’ to become peer educators so that they facilitators     

                Outreach programs will be conducted every after a few days in selected places this will allow the organization to reach out to as many people as possible and give them an opportunity to have access to information about the importance of mental health. These programs are scheduled to start running next month.

    Missy Wezi M Care Foundation is an organization that aims at promoting and improving mental well being of every individual in Zambia through education, support and advocacy. In pursuit of our mission, we strive to:

    • Improve the community’s understanding of mental health and the mind-body connection between mental and physical healthy.

    • Provide education and opportunities for individuals to identify early warning signs of mental illness and subsequently provide programs and an environment that supports recovery and improves resilience for these individuals. Our values Our values are the set of core beliefs that guides our actions and behavior. We live our values –they influence the way we treat our clients, engage with all our stakeholders, and the way we work and interact with our colleagues, both within and outside of Missy Wezi C Care Foundation.

    • Every person, regardless of their disability, race, ethnicity, gender, age , economic status, or sexual orientation, has the right and responsibilities to full potential in our society, the right to be treated with compassion, respect and dignity, free from stigma and prejudice.

    • Mental health is essential to personal well being and is fundamental to achieving a healthy, balanced and productive life.

    • Treatment offers a powerful return on investment and treatment does work if used appropriately. With treatment options, what was only a hope in the past is quickly

    In pursuit of our mission, we strive to:

    • Improve the community’s understanding of mental health and the mind-body connection between mental and physical healthy.

    • Provide education and opportunities for individuals to identify early warning signs of mental illness and subsequently provide programs and an environment that supports recovery and improves resilience for these individuals.

    • Assure that those who request information and need mental health care referral have confidential access to the appropriate information and know how to obtain care.

    • Advocate for improved support and treatments particularly at the state and federal levels, especially where reform is needed.

    Provide quality education and support to the youths, young adults and adults on key issues that commonly lead to mental illness.

    Creating a platform that motivates youths, young adults and adults to participate in community conversations about issues of mental healthy this will give an opportunity to persons of different age group to have access information on mental health from peer educators.

    The quality of mental health education and support (particularly schools, community and the country at large is not inconsistent and the affected   do not receive sufficient guarantees that the specialists they commission or purchase have suitable levels of training and experience.

    Mental health is essential to personal well being and is fundamental to achieving a healthy, balanced and productive life.  This is the main reason Missy Wezi M care Foundation as an organization we have decided to train volunteers to be peer educators this will allow volunteers’ have more insight on mental health.
