Environmental sustainability and Social Development

    Description
    Description
As a global supplier of furniture into schools and healthcare, a social conscious has always been a critical part of Sebel's corporate culture. In order to competitively supply its product around.

    Implementation of the Project/Activity

In order to competitively supply its product around the globe, Sebel has had to engage in developing countries in order to have a low cost supply chain. In doing so, Sebel has chosen to set its own benchmarks for worker safety, work place quality and labour (including child labour) conditions, that has meant that Sebel has probably always paid more than its lowest cost competitor for products. Sebel chooses to do so, to advance the rights and life of the workers who supply it, but we believe that this also results in a better quality product being produced.

Sebel is engaged with the Australian Indigenous Minority Supplier Council and Indigenous owned businesses across Northern Australia in delivering its products and services.

Sebel is also seeking to engage with NGO and Governments in delivering low cost education facilities to developing countries and communities.
