Description
Instruments on board by regional, national and local bodies to forecast the impact of interventions that promote cycling and walking: in two stages: effects on travel behaviour and safe accessibility, and the social, economic and environmental impact of these effects.
Guidelines for cycling and walking inclusive planning and design (Share the Road principles) developed by regional stakeholder platforms (with public and private sector, experts and NGO's)
The Dutch Cycling Embassy is a public private partnership. She mobilises Dutch public and private partners to use their capacities and international relations to contribute to the deliverables.
The Embassy wants to organise support to current institutional arrangements in order to:
provide capacity building to UN programs such as UNEP's Share the Road Program and support match making between companies that want to deliver assistance and develop plans and interventions.
help develop integrated guidelines for planning and design and support regional platforms, such as Regional EST Forum in Asia and Latin America by UNCRD and others in order to promote/advance NMT as an integral part of the transport policy, planning and development at local and national level,
assist economic, social and environmental impact assessment with e.g. multilateral banks with multi modal traffic modelling,
establish a joint program with the Cycling Academic Network coordinated by ITC/University Twente with universities in India, Brazil and South Africa,
The Embassy wants to integrate strategy development on cycling with walking with a.o. CAI-Asia and on road safety with the FIA Foundation.
Further the Embassy has the purpose to help forward joint contributions by user organisations to the UN process
