Achievement at a glance
Since 2017 all the 48 vessels of our organization have been certified under the "Atún de Pesca Responsable (APR)" Standard. https://atundepescaresponsableaenor.com/Bechnmarking done with Conservation International to compare APR with CI Social Policy. OPAGAC has become Early Adopter of the Social Policy promoted by FisheryProgress. https://fisheryprogress.org/social-responsibility-early-adopters
We also have completed the FIP of those vessels operating in the 3 major Oceans and now we had finished the MSC certification of the 3 tropical tuna species in the Western and Central Pacific Ocean (WCPO) (skipjack, yellowfin and bigeye tunas) and on the yellowfin tuna in the Eastern Pacific. In process of certification with skipjack tuna in the Indian Ocean and yellowfin tuna in the Atlantic Ocean. The rest of the stocks that we fish, will be under renew FIPs until we achive MSC certification.
