Progress report for
Protecting water from here, preserving water from elsewhere
Achievement at a glance
Protecting water resources is a priority for the Eau de Paris catchment areas:- More than 115 farmers are compensated for their sustainable farming practices. This agricultural aid scheme helps to protect water on more than 17,000 hectares managed using agro-ecology.
- Eau de Paris also maintains and promotes the biodiversity of its natural environments by implementing projects to restore ecological continuity.
Challenges faced in implementation
The main difficulty faced, particularly since 2022, is to consolidate the organic farming sector, which is undergoing a crisis in France, mainly due to food inflation. Eau de Paris' aim is to ensure stable and profitable outlets for farmers through its aid scheme, to help them maintain their commitment to sustainable agriculture.Next Steps
