Achievement at a glance
2019 is a triumphant year when the United Nations recognised our initiative as a good practise. Prime to our success is collective collaboration between multiple stakeholders, connecting different cultures, science and academic background, involving socio economic layers. We have been looking for the right publisher to further disseminate this good practise, with the hope to replicate this zero-emission business model globally, as a realistic act upon climate change and pandemic mitigation. It is possible, only if we work collectively towards mutual goals, with the same momentum.Challenges faced in implementation
It is a challenging task to be able to meet a publisher with the same vision and mission. We are hopeful when we know about the UN SDG Publishers Compact. We begin sending book submissions to the publishers that have signed the commitment to actively promoting and acquiring content that advocates for themes represented by the SDGs, such as equality, sustainability, justice and safeguarding and strengthening the environment. However, it is a defeated purpose. We have not received a friendly acceptance, hence we have not been able to efficiently disseminate this good practise and time keeps ticking.Next Steps
Scientific journals and beneficial applicable solutions tend to stay in the lab and fail to reach the commercial world where real economic activities that impact the world takes place. A research is successful only if it is applicable for the benefits of world mass population, utilised globally. Publishers have the tendency to categorize subjects, however the real world does not function in specific boxes. We aspire to experience collaborative work between the academic, art and commercial. An academic research journal can be packaged with artwork without losing its intelligence, and art moves souls. We need to work across borders, beyond status quo. Publishers need to stop categorising and act outside the box.Beneficiaries
