Achievement at a glance
MPA co-organised with the IMO the 2nd edition of the Future Ready Shipping Conference held in Singapore on 25-26 September 2017. \r\n\r\nThe Conference aimed to gather maritime leaders from developed and developing countries to exchange views and foster a culture of collaboration in energy efficient technologies and technology transfer.

Actions
The Conference served as a good platform for capacity building, in particular for developing countries and Small Island Developing States (SIDS), to share their experiences and challenges in implementing energy efficient technologies, and to learn more on technology transfers and the latest trends in energy efficient technologies. Singapore also hosted a one-day workshop after the Conference with the IMO on the development of maritime energy efficiency and emissions strategies and their implementation. Participants of the workshop shared their best practices and challenges in developing and implementing national strategies to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The IMO also shared updates on its work on developing a strategy on the same topic.
