Do to the infrastructure issues at the Green Classroom in the Modelo School. We have not been able to resume the work in the green class as plan, but\\r\\n we are continuing our work with teachers and students in the separation of garbage in different schools on the island of Roatan. Solid waste management plans are being implemented in two educational centers (Harvey Nelson Basic Education Center and Sandy Bay Model) and a strategic plan for five educational centers (Sabio Cacho in Colonia Smith and Crawfish Rock, Garvey Nelson in Hottest Sparrow, Policarpo Bonilla in Corozal and Toribio Bustillo in Mud Hole). Solid waste management plans that were made with the consultant in 2018 with the previous project financed by the MAR Fund. In 2019, estrategic plans were elaborated after this visit by the Environmental Educator in which it specifies the different activities that each educational center can do to reduce its waste. It is oriented to improve solid waste management to reduce volume and apply good practices in waste management. The strategies that are being implemented in the seven schools have the purpose of improving the management of solid waste that is generated within educational centers, which were the promotion of environmental education, hygiene and health within them.\\r\\nRecycling workshops began in July, which consist of educating students on the ways of separating garbage, since these educational centers already have garbage cans for separation. They received a two-day training on SAM(mesoamerican reef system), to then share what they learned in their community. To date, seven workshops have been held, training 930 students.\\r\\nIn 2019, work continued with Mayan Princess and Paradise Hotel; Additionally, there was an interest from Anthonys Key Resort (AKR) and they began to work with them as well.Challenges faced in implementation
