Progress report for
Clean Beaches Operation
Achievement at a glance
Due to the health crisis caused by the pandemic of Covid 19, which is significantly affecting the beaches' management process. The Foundation has developed, in cooperation with its national committee, a guide for use and management of beaches in the context of the Covid 19 health crisis. The main objective behind this guide is to provide orientations regarding the intervention of beach managers as well as the other concerned actors to tackle health related risks on beaches while taking into account the best suited responses to the needs of summer visitors and users.
As the clean beaches operation has three main components: Planning and infrastructure, Cleaning and Awareness , this exceptional situation obliges us to adapt our system to meet the health requirements while maintaining our commitment to environmental protection and the spirit of the "Clean Beaches" program.
However, #B7arblaplastic campaign (Plastic Free Beaches) and the awareness-education component will not take place on the beaches this year. As environmental awareness and education are at the heart of the mission that the Foundation has given itself, It became an obligation to innovate and find adequate means to continue our mission. Therefore, the Foundation will launch a digital platform with the following objectives:
- Establish a continuous link throughout the year with all of our audiences and on all of the themes that the Foundation and its partners carry to protect the environment. Thus the actions of the Foundation and its partners will gain more visibility.
- Beyond raising awareness and educating, the platform aims to stengthen everyone's commitment to protect the environment.
- Upgrade our educational methods to gain the support of as many people as possible.
