Securing social-, economic- and environmental sustainability in the Swedish Maritime Strategy
Achievement at a glance
In 2018 a system for a yearly follow-up of the maritime strategys vision that captures the development in three perspectives, was developed in a cooperation between a number of governmement agencies. The Swedish Agency for Infrastructure was assigned by the Government to lead the work.\r\n\r\nMarine spatial planning (MSP) constitutes one the Swedish Maritime Strategys six areas of action. In December 2019 the Swedish Agency for Marine and Water management (SwAM) submitted plan proposals for MSP to the Government. This included environment impact assessments, sustainability appraisal, summary of the public consultations and other documentation. All documents are available on SwAM website (www.havochvatten.se) As part of the publication, the national MSP web tool on the web site of SwAM was updated. Parts of the documents will be translated to English and published by June 2020. A monitoring and evaluation system is being developed for the marine spatial plans and planning. That system will in certain parts, link to the follow-up system of the maritime strategy. \r\nBeneficiaries
