The Center for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Global Partnership of the North China University of Technology (GPC-NCUT) was inaugurated on 6 May, 2019. \r\n\r\nProfessor Shen Zhili, the Vice President of the North China University of Technology stressed in her opening speech that the Centre (GPC-NCUT) would focus on high-level joint research and innovation work, carry out sustainable development of the region in economic, social and environmental areas, shoulder the cultivation of young students' innovative and entrepreneurial spirit, and establish a platform for excellence by generating advanced methods, technologies and strong mentor resources. \r\n\r\nRight after Professor Shen, Professor Zhang Q., Karen, the Director of the Hong Kong Institute of Education for Sustainable Development, revealed that at present, sustainable development was the core driving force of international consensus, national strategy and enterprise innovation. The Institute has been involved in the promotion of sustainable development for 20 years, leading to accumulation of interdisciplinary expert resources from academia and industry. The Centre (GPC-NCUT) was established under the Global Sustainable Development Goals Collaborative Project No. 26908.\r\n\r\nFollowing speech delivery, Professor Shen and Professor Zhang officially signed a cooperation agreement. The Centre (GPC-NCUT) was witnessed to open by dignitaries from government, academia, industry and professionals, including Mr. Feng Xiwang, the President of the Mainland Hong Kong Macau Economy & Trade Promotion Association; Professor Ji Mingming, Member of National Advisory Committee on Education of China; Professor Wang Liyan, the Director of the Center for Responsibility & Social Value, Peking University; Mr. Zhao Kai, the Vice President & Secretary General of the China Association of Circular Economy; Miss Amy Siu, the Chairman of the Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce in China; Mr. Derek Chan, the Vice Chairman of the Hong Kong Professionals (Beijing) Association and Mr. Li Guoping, the Director of Business Strategy of Microsoft China.Beneficiaries
