Achievement at a glance
The GMA team is proud to announce that both the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Wetlands International have joined the GMA as steering committee members, and a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed by all steering committee members, initiating further progress across organizations as an alliance. In addition, over the last year additional members have joined, including Blue Ventures, the Mangrove Action Project, RARE, the Wildlife Conservation Society, the Zoological Society of London, and the National Audubon Society.<br>
<br>At the 6th Annual GEF Assembly in Vietnam the GMA organized the event Leveraging Opportunities for Mangrove Conservation and restoration to Meet National and Global Priorities, one of many upcoming mangrove events the GMA will organize and participate in at international fora.

<br>The GMA brings together technical experts, local communities, businesses, governments, funding agencies, and foundations to accelerate a coordinated approach to mangrove conservation and restoration. The partnership is focused around the voluntary commitment "Taking Action to Increase Mangrove Habitat 20% by 2030" with the aim to reverse the loss of critically important mangrove habitats worldwide.
