Progress report for
Circular Regions - Circular Economy Coalition
Achievement at a glance
Launched the Nordics first 'Library of Things' at Nesodden, Norway. Using the data provided by a local survey, and the funding from Sparebankstiftelsen (400,000NOK) alongside the Digital Platform provided by Smartbruk.com we have successfully launched the initiative with a business model that supports access by every member in the community regardless of their socio-economic status. Not only will this provide social and economic benefits by enabling access over ownership, but the data will also provide us with the ability to measure the environmental impact.Challenges faced in implementation
The biggest challenge we face to date is the lack of understanding and support from our local public authorities and politicians to understand the social, economic and environmental impact we provide.Next Steps
New communities are reaching out to join our learning network to get access to our technology, business model and funding and marketing strategies. Webinars are being held to replicate Libraries of Things in various communities, both urban and rural.Beneficiaries
