Farmers irked by evasive administrative solutions. South West region producers have show-cased their capacity to produce despite production challenges often presented to administrative officials.\r\n Officials usually promise to channel the challenges to hierarchy. But during the 2017 regional agro pastoral show in Buea they were rather evasive as different issues were raised by the representative of the minister of agriculture without mentioning the pertinent worries presented by the producers. The producers felt frustrated that their real challenges are ignored, some times putting up solutions. The result, some of the farmers says, is low productively and mounting challenges in marketing their produce that has ruined life for cocoa, rubber and tomato farmers in 2017. On behalf of producers during the agric show last December, the umbrella farmers organization, PLANOPACSW said despite promises to create a farmers bank in 2011, producers face challenges in getting loans production. To the producer, the banking and insurance sectors in Cameroon play little or no role in assisting producers. They called on the government to speed up the creation of the famers bank as announced 7 years after by the Head of State at the last national agro pastoral show in Ebolowa. The producer frowned at the non payment of seed producers contracted by the farmer minister of agriculture. For years, farmers have agitated asking for payment of their dues. This is the third time the producers representative is appealing yo the government to pay off te debts that is almost crippling seed producers who had supplied seeds to government but have not been paid for three years. The producer regretted that the chemicals the government is about yo give farmers stocked in a warehouse in Kumba will be expired by his March 2018 when due distribution to farmers.
