Implementation of an integrated approach to coastal and marine ecosystems for sustainable blue growth in the Southeast Pacific (SPINCAM Project Phase 3)
Achievement at a glance
The SPINCAM project is advancing with preliminary results of the macro-survey on national and regional capacities to support the Action plan for Institutional Capacity Development in support of Member States contribution to Agenda 2030 implementation.<br>
<br>National institutions have agreed on a regional classification of coastal and marine ecosystems and its services, in order to compare ecosystems within the region, the SPINCAM Technical team is implementing the methodology agreed during the workshop on ecosystems' identification and classification organized in Guayaquil (Ecuador) November 2017.

<br>A national review of coastal and marine/maritime policies started during the last months of 2017, national institutions are currently finalizing the preparation of policy factsheets to support both national and policy analysis for the Southeast Pacific as a first step`to define National and regional recommendations for marine spatial planning toward sustainable blue growth.
<br>
<br>At national level, first participatory events with socio-economic players will be organized during the month of February 2018 in support to the joint roadmap for public and socio-economic players participation considering the synergies and differences between socio-economic activities and coastal and marine environments in the Southeast Pacific region.
