Since 2015 we are monitoring beach litter following a common protocol. Within Clean up the Med 2017 edition, a communication on the need to ban plastic bags in all Mediterranean countries has been spread to all the participating organizations. Up to now, 74 among hotels, schools, universities, diving, associations, municipalities from Greece, Spain, Albania, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, France, Egypt, Turkey, Lebanon and Montenegro have joined our request to support the Plastic Bags Ban in all Mediterranean countries (https://goo.gl/JnzsR9). This commitment has been also presented at Our Ocean conference in Malta (http://ourocean2017.org/our-ocean-commitments).
