Progress report for
Reducing air pollution from vessels serving the German Federal Administration
Achievement at a glance
On 20.12.2017 the keel-laying of the replacement building of the survey, wreck search and research vessel ATAIR took place. Monika Breuch-Moritz, President of the Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH), recalled at that occasion that the planning for the new ATAIR had been going on for several years. Funds had to be made available, requirements rethought. Much convincing work had to be done on the propulsion system, as LNG technology was still in its infancy at that time - however, the reduced emissions of nitrogen oxides by 80 percent, sulphur dioxide by 90 percent and no fine particulate in the end convinced by itself.<br>Data replacemant building VWFS ATAIR\r\n\r\nLength overall: 74,00 m\r\n
