Since the United Nations SDG14 conference in New York City in June 2017, Mission Blue has declared 4 new Hope Spots around the world. They are located at Olowalu Reef in Hawaii, Blue Shark Central in the high seas of the North Atlantic Ocean, Mako Shark Metropolis in the high seas of the North Atlantic Ocean and Lesbos island in the Mediterranean Sea. Mission Blues works with each Hope Spot group, encouraging regular submissions of compelling content rich in story, photo, video, virtual reality and spatial mapping. Sharing this content on Mission Blues social media and digital channels offers global exposure to Hope Spots large and small, empowering local communities to act.
