Tun Mustapha Park - win-win for conservation and people

Sabah Parks and WWF-Malaysia signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the 18th September 2017 to formalise their collaboration for the next 8 years, to ensure Tun Mustapha Park (TMP) is effectively managed. The collaboration focus on six aspects of TMP in the protection and restoration of key ecosystems (coral reefs, seagrass and mangroves) and key species (sea turtles, dugong, sharks, commercially valuable fish) including - effective management and effectiveness monitoring, collaborative management with communities and stakeholders, effective surveillance and enforcement, scientific research and education; and sustainable development of tourism and fisheries.<br>
<br>WWF-Malaysia also continues to engage communities to be part of the management of TMP. The Tigabu community orgnaise a Turtle Festival on their island to celebrate their work on turtle protection. See stories at :https://goo.gl/BovQ3S
