Achievement at a glance
During 2016 The Parliamentarian Assembly for Implementation of Sustainable Development Goals had succeeded in keeping the first meeting dedicated to organizational issues and gathering parliamentarians from Republic of Moldova, Romania, Hungary, Serbia and Macedonia (May 2016).In June 2016 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, The Parliamentarian Assembly for Implementation of Sustainable Development Goals received the support of Prime Minister of Cambodia-Samdek Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo HUN SEN.
Cambodia has become the first Asian country to register his parliament as a member of The Parliamentarian Assembly for Implementation of Sustainable Development Goals.
Challenges faced in implementation
The main challenges are related to the high level of secretarial and clerical work involved in developing and governing the initiative.Next Steps
In December 2016 The Romanian Parliament will host the next organization and supervising meeting for the initiative.In March 2017 the next general meeting of The Parliamentarian Assembly for Implementation of Sustainable Development Goals will take place registering new parliamentarian membership.
During 2017 The Parliamentarian Assembly for Implementation of Sustainable Development Goals is proposing to build the cluster for African Parliaments, Asian Parliaments, Latin American Parliaments and regional steering committees.
